Prayer and Pancakes event

This CTL event will be held at Thomas Helwys Church on Thursday 16th Feb (time to be confirmed). Come along to enjoy some pancakes, take time to reflect in advance of Lent, and pray for God’s church in Lenton and our local community.

Women’s World day of Prayer

Friday 2nd March - this year focusing on Malaysia. A service will be held at the Methodist church from 2-3pm, and everyone is welcome (including men!) There will be a crèche for young children. If you would like more information or would be prepared to help with some short readings, please see Alison Gardner

Outreach Opportunity

Finally we are still seeking volunteers for a CTL team which can visit Edna G school to deliver fun and creative assemblies on key Christian themes. If you have a passion for kids, arts or drama this is for you. It’s not a big time commitment – just the ability to get to one or two assemblies per term, plus some creative input to planning. Kids are taught about all faiths nowadays – let’s make sure the Christian message gets remembered! See Alison Gardner or Jo Kautzer if you’d like to help.

Vicarage drive

At some point over the next two months Megan will move into the vicarage. Now would be a good time to remind people that what we use as the Unity House "car park" is actually the vicarage drive. Please do not park near to the vicarage or block the drive when parking.

Megan’s licensing

Megan will be licensed as our vicar on Monday 2nd April at 7.30 pm in HTL. Please continue to pray for her as she prepares for this new season in her life and ours.

Church budget 2012

The PCC and Churchwardens would like to thank everyone for their giving during 2011.

The PCC has considered the 2012 budget for Lenton Parish. We have cut down spending as much as we can. We need to find around £1300 each week if we are to meet this year’s budget.

Pie chart of Budget 2011

Note: “Missions” is our tithe to our mission partners. The “Parish Share” is what we pay to the diocese (it varies in every church). It would cost us significantly more if were to employ and house our vicar directly so it’s a good deal!

Everything we have is God’s and what we give back to him shows our thankfulness to him. Let’s all ask God to guide our giving in 2012.

Church Bookings

Requests for use of the church buildings, HTL or Priory, should be made via bookings@lentonparish.org.uk. This is for both internal and external booking. In addition to this there is a hard copy desk diary in the church office that records all bookings. All non-routine internal church use should check availability first and then be recorded in this diary. For booking church use an initial enquiry by email is the preferred approach. Unity House bookings continue to be via Piotr Wisniewski.

* To receive an electronic copy of this welcome sheet email news@lentonparish.org.uk with 'Electronic Copy Please' in the subject line - Please don't add any other text to your email.
